How Many Locations Does LHC Group Have?

LHC Group operates 861 locations in 38 states.

LHC Group, Inc., a major provider of home healthcare services, expanded its operations significantly in 2021 through a strategic purchase agreement with Brookdale Health Care Services. The deal, which was part of a wider venture between HCA Healthcare and Brookdale Senior Living Inc., saw LHC Group acquire 23 home health locations, 11 hospices, and 13 therapy agencies across 22 U.S. states. The purchased agencies were not part of HCA Healthcare’s service areas and continued to operate under their existing brands.

The purchase agreement marked a notable expansion of LHC Group’s footprint, resources, and service capabilities. It also facilitated the company’s entry into Minnesota and New Mexico, two states where it previously did not operate. The annualized revenue expected from this acquisition was approximately $146 million.

The agreement was finalized in the fourth quarter of 2021, subject to customary closing conditions. Despite the significant expansion, LHC Group maintained that the purchase would not materially affect its 2021 diluted earnings per share.

This merger with Brookdale Health Care Services was part of LHC Group’s broader growth strategy. It allowed the company to extend its services to more individuals in need of quality healthcare in their homes or places of residence. Furthermore, it enabled LHC Group to collaborate with Brookdale Senior Living’s 226 senior living communities in these new territories.
